Classes will begin January 2009 at all three Zanies locations and run for five consecutive weeks.  These classes will be featuring the “Maxwell Method” of leaning comedy developed by veteran headlining comedian Dobie Maxwell.    Dobie Maxwell has taught at Zanies in Chicago and at various locations across the U.S. since 1993 and has authored many articles on the subject.  This course is designed to instill the fundamentals of comedy success both on stage and off and is a sound foundation on which a comedy career can be built correctly.   Students will be given a chance to perform on the famous Zanies stage and get honest feedback and constructive critiques of their comedic ability and how to develop it further.  This course is packed with useful information –and is FUN!   Even if you do not have the desire to become a standup comic, Zanies comedy classes are designed for the curious who want to find out what standup comedy is all about.  Zanies comedy classes are designed for the beginner, but can also help the business professional that must make presentations by building confidence and making them more effective public speakers.
