Description * * * * * MUST HAVE STAR WARS! Here is a BONA FIDE ORIGINAL 1977 FOX issue Star Wars Style C one sheet even the most advanced collector probably does not have! Domestic issue, WITH THE PG BOX! This poster was issued for use INSIDE the United States, unlike the common Style C one sheet that is pictured on the (sadly incomplete) Star Wars Checklist poster. FOX issued the regular Style C one sheet for international use ONLY! NOT FOR USE INSIDE THE US!!! That is why there is NO PG RATING BOX ON IT! The PG rating system is a domestic program created for use in the United States only. Foreign countries have their own systems for rating movies, if they even rate them at all. Star Wars success in the first year of release was unprecedented, breaking all box office records. That is why there are so many different styles of posters for the film. It just kept on going, playing more than a year, straight through to 1978. FOX even issued the famous Happy Birthday one sheet to celebrate this remarkable achievement. In that first year (1977) FOX had many benefit screenings, executive screenings and live personal appearances by the two robots and Darth Vader. This DOMESTIC version of the Style C one sheet was used for such special events. That is why the PG box is on it and that is why the credits at the bottom of the poster were redesigned to accommodate extra space, for venue information.
