Description
Johnny Cash's 1961 Seeburg AY-100 Jukebox This auction is for Johnny Cash's 1961 Seeburg AY-100 Jukebox. The Jukebox came from Johnny Cash and June Carter Cash's primary residence at 200 Caudill Drive, Hendersonville, TN. on the the shore of Old Hickory Lake (featured in the movie Walk The Line). I bought this Jukebox from the sister of Bob Wooton. Johnny gave the Jukebox to her as a gift in 1976 at his home in Hendersonville. If anyone out there is not familiar with Bob Wooton, Google him and you will find plenty of information. He played guitar in Johnny's band, and The Johnny Cash Show for over 33 years. This piece is certainly one of the rarest of any celebrity owned jukeboxes in the world. When I bought it, the jukebox needed only routine service. I had the service work completed by one of the premier jukebox companies in the Southern United States. It was not modified in any way from the way it was when I bought it. The jukebox stays on 24/7 at our location on Music Row in Nashville, Tennessee and works like the day it was new. This jukebox is in extremely nice condition, has never been restored, and is signed by Johnny Cash on the top glass. I am not a jukebox expert but this appears to be very close to original or completely original. The only thing that is missing is one of the Seeburg badges on the right side of the jukebox. These are readily available and cheap to find. I could have easily put one on it but I wanted to keep it the way that I got it. The Johnny Cash Seeburg comes with a letter of authenticity, a photo of Johnny and Bob's sister in 1975 at The Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville, as well as additional photos in a shadow box. Anyone who would like to have a scan of this letter, which contains the information and story about the history of the jukebox, please contact me and I will email it to you. I will not post an enlarged version of it in detail on the internet because it contains names and addresses and I want to protect the privacy of the previous owner. I have never found another jukebox quite like this one. I have never seen or even heard of another one personally owned by Cash. By all accounts,, after much searching over the last three years, this is the only one. The auction will last for 10 days only. If it does not sell, it will go to one of the major auction houses as part of a Music Memorabilia auction. It will not be listed on ebay again so bid accordingly. I will not ship this internationally. All sales are final. I require that the buyer pickup the jukebox themselves, at my place of business in Nashville, Tennessee, or arrange pickup by a professional shipping company. All shipping charges, handling, and insurance are the responsibility of the buyer. Anyone interested in looking at the jukebox in person, can send me an email and I will arrange it. I accept Paypal or a Cashiers Check, from a local Nashville bank for payment. I reserve the right to end the auction at any time. Thanks and Good Luck.
