(Please see details below) This is a very rare edition, number 1993 out of 2500, of Songs by George Harrison by Genesis publications 1992. This is part of the Mary and Nancy Oakes collection, who both had the pleasure of actually meeting the Beatles in the Bahamas, on Paradise Island during the filming of ‘HELP’. This is one of two mint matched George Harrison Genesis volumes, both are editions 1993. There is the one in this listing, and “I ME MINE” in another listing I have up this week. It is a shame to split up the 2 matched editions, but in order for more fans and collectors to have a chance to afford maybe one of the two, this is the best way. This book comes with all of the original paperwork, packaging, and literature on other George Harrison Genesis books, including ’Fifty Years Adrift” & Live In Japan. This edition of ‘Songs by George Harrison, is in beautiful mint condition. The edition is # 1993, and is limited to 2500 numbered copies worldwide, each one hand-bound in a beautiful black three-quarter leather binding, gold leaf pages, and individually numbered and personally autographed by George Harrison, former Beatle and artist in his own right, and Keith West who is the illustrator and one of the finest botanical watercolor artists in the world Four unreleased tracks accompany this book in CD format. The disc, which is housed in a sliding drawer inside the two-tray solander box, contains the following previously unreleased material: LIFE ITSELF (Demo version. All instruments by George Harrison.) HOTTEST GONG IN TOWN TEARS OF THE WORLD HARI'S ON TOUR EXPRESS (Recorded live in Washington DC in 1974.) These four recordings are fine examples of the George's work and are important additions to any collection. The demo version of Life Itself is of particular interest as it provides the listener with a rare opportunity to hear one of George Harrison's songs in its embryo form with all instruments played by the composer. Also included is the original shipping box from Genesis Publications, paperwork, reservation form, many correspondence from Genesis to Mary Oakes, literature on ‘Fifty Years Adrift’. And finally, a large envelope containing literature and pictures of the ‘Live In Japan’ edition, and literature, order forms, and photos of the Songs by George Harrison 2. No where else have I seen such a mint and complete edition of the very rare book, which in it self is quite valuable, but with the addition of George Harrison’s autograph, along with Keith West’s autograph as well, makes this a very desirable and collectable book indeed. This is a great piece of the late George Harrison memorabilia, and will be the center piece of any book, Beatles, or Rock and Roll collection. The pictures pretty much speak for themselves.
